What is an Escape Room?
An Escape room is a mentally engaging adventure game in which teams are locked into a room and have to use the surrounding clues and puzzles in order to escape within 60 minutes.
Where are you located? Where do we park?
You can find us at 7610 Tecumseh Road East inside the TriOS College building between Lauzon Road and Lauzon Parkway. There is free on-site parking and entrances at both the front and back of the building. Once in the building, follow the signage to the APE Escape front lobby. If by chance the doors are locked please call us at 519-960-0399.
Are reservations required?
Yes; however, same day bookings are typically available with a phone call. Please contact us for any other inquiries.
Can 2 people do a room by themselves?
We highly suggest you come with a team of 3 or more people in our escape rooms. Our rooms are designed for 4-6 people and teams of just 2 generally struggle to complete puzzles and make progress.
How long will the whole event take?
After you arrive it takes about 10-15 minutes to allow for check in, instructions, waivers and last minute bathroom breaks! There will be time allotted for pictures and discussion afterwards. The whole event should take approximately 90 minutes, unless you get out early!
What size team should I bring?
We will allow anywhere from 2 – 10 players in our escape rooms at once. However, you may feel crowded with a really large group and smaller groups may find it very tough to complete all the puzzles in the allotted time with lower numbers. Our escape rooms are generally designed for a group of 4-6 people. Bringing anywhere between 4 and 6 will give you (and each member of your team) an ideal experience and allow you to have the most fun possible!
What age can participate?
In order to be in the room WITHOUT a parent or guardian, we recommend participants be a minimum age of 13.
Younger children (8-12 years old) are welcome to play as long as at least one parent or guardian accompanies them in the room. Some children generally won’t understand the details of every single puzzle, but can definitely help in many ways!

Are we going to be with other strangers in the room?
No, when you book a time slot, your party will be the only ones in the room.
Can I bring my phone into the room?
Good try, but no you cannot. You will be asked to leave your phones and all other belongings in a secured locker outside of the room before you enter.
Can I play by myself?
No! I would be nearly impossible for one person to solve all the puzzles in the room by themselves as many features of the games involve teamwork from multiple team members.
How long does it take? What if I need more time?
Each game lasts about 60 minutes, but depending on the booking schedule that day, you may be able to give your team about 5-10 minutes of extra time to finish.
How many rooms are there?
We are currently have three escape games at our location. We have a Prison Break, a Casino Heist, and an Island Quest operating at this time.
Is it scary/gory? What if I’m claustrophobic or have to use the washroom?
Although all of our games are thrilling, they are not designed to be scary. Read the room descriptions to find which one appeals to you. Generally, the doors are locked to add to the escape experience, but if you ask us, we will cater to your team’s needs. There is a “Game Master” who will always be watching your team on a monitor and communicating with you throughout the game. We ask that you use the washroom at the facility before entering the room so you don’t ruin the experience.
Should I prepare? Is there any outside knowledge required? What if it is too difficult?
We do our best to include all the information required to solve the puzzles inside the room. Our game is designed for enjoyability and adventure. We want everyone to have fun and explore through the whole game. There are no puzzles that require Mensa IQ. If you do find that you are confused, you are allowed unlimited guidance and hints to help you successfully play through the room.
What if I want to add more people to my group after I make the booking?
You are more than welcome to bring a bigger group than you original booked for; however, please remember not to exceed the maximum player capacity of the room you have booked for. Just contact us if there are any changes to the size of your party so we can adjust accordingly.
